The Sheila (or Sheila as they prefer) are a band that only happens in provinces, in working-class neighborhoods on the suburbs, born and raised near the void ” in the void”, far from modern stereotypes, posturing and clichés of the big city . Their music comes spontaneous and natural and you can hear it in their sound. Tough, urgent and loud rock that could come from any of the last three decades and be comfortable in the margins of each one.
Sheila is a trio halfway between Campoamor and Altozano, two neighborhoods of Alicante, formed by guys looking like gypsy warriors on guitars and the “uruguayan” girl on drums. They remind me ,to give you an idea, about Fugazi or Nirvana, who came from a place where there is constant summer and palm trees, and nothing never, ever, happens.
